Year 12 Mississippi web links

In preparation for the lesson I asked you to research the Mississppi floods. All good geographers have a focus and an aim when conducting research. Use the links below to begin your research. I am expecting at least 1.5 hours worth of research! Remember our discussion about what good note taking looks like.
You should consider the following ideas and questions as a focus:

* The causes.
* The effects.- environmental, social, economic and political.
* The responses (short and long term).
* The implications for the future.
Wikipedia - Hurricane Katrina. - a good general overview with some good external links.
BBC News - New Orleans - Nature's revenge? The article has some nice information, follow the links to the right for good audio/visual material.
Guardian Unlimited - The Day That Music Died - an interesting leftfield look at the floods, scroll to the bottom for lots more links
After Hurricane Katrina - How things have changed? - an interactive photo story - really good for taking you there.
