Year 9 Fair Trade - The Plenary Homework to the Trade Game.

After the craziness that was the Trade Game we have now turned our attention to some attempts to make trade fairer. I have asked you to collect information by giving you a number. I have divided this homework into MUST and COULD.
Please come to the lesson prepared to share your knowledge and your questions. Remember about not just printing!
You MUST look at:
What is FAIRTRADE?
Now look at your number. This case-study shows how Fairtrade sales can benefit LEDC farmers and their community. The case-study is based on interviews with a group of banana farmers and workers in the Dominican Republic. The benefits they describe come from just 2 years sales to the UK Fairtrade market. The interviews were recorded for Fairtrade Fortnight in 2002.
